"Mr. Salazar's playing was certainly accomplished, his musicianship is unquestioned and there was an incredible fluidity to his music as he traversed it." Bert Weschler, NY Daily News.
"Impressive performance of his own works, a 'Fantasia' that lasted about ten minutes and a shorter tone picture, 'Enchanted Land' ...the latter began with gripping atmospheric harmonies so uncanny to the aspects of New Mexico's landscape. 'Fantasia' in contrast, ranged through several themes and moods in a pleasing cycle of variations and repetitions that created wide musical spaces...Salazar mesmerized the audience through his poetic intensities and velocity." David Noble, The Albuquerque Journal.
Mr. Salazar's recital will include works by Isaac Albeniz; Francisco Tarrega; Emilio Pujol; J.S. Bach; Antonio Lauro; Juaquin Rodrigo; Sabicas; as well as two classical pieces and two flamenco pieces by José Salazar himself.
